Construction of Marine Works and Coastal Protection Structures

The marine works project was developed to improve coastal protection, strengthen port-related infrastructure, and support long-term operation in a coastal environment. Due to the influence of tides, waves, wind conditions, and complex ground characteristics, the project required a well-planned construction method, strict technical supervision, and continuous quality control throughout the entire implementation process.

CTB participated in the project with responsibilities related to construction coordination, material inspection, progress monitoring, quality control, and preparation of handover documentation. The work was carried out in multiple phases, including site preparation, material approval, construction of main structures, installation of supporting items, inspection, testing, and final handover.

Scope of Work

The project covered several major work items, including coastal protection structures, breakwater construction, reinforced concrete works, foundation improvement, port-related structural components, and auxiliary facilities. During construction, the technical team worked closely with relevant parties to ensure that each stage met the required standards for safety, quality, and project schedule.

Main work items included:

  • Site inspection and assessment of construction conditions.
  • Review and control of materials before delivery to the site.
  • Construction of breakwater and coastal protection structures.
  • Reinforced concrete works and port-related foundation items.
  • Coordination of equipment, manpower, and construction methods.
  • On-site quality control and technical supervision.
  • Preparation of inspection records, as-built drawings, and handover documents.

Technical Requirements

As the project was located in a coastal and marine environment, all materials and construction methods had to meet strict requirements for durability, load-bearing capacity, corrosion resistance, and long-term performance. Concrete structures, steel components, anchoring systems, and supporting materials were carefully checked before installation to reduce risks during operation.

Construction activities also had to be arranged according to weather conditions, tidal schedules, site accessibility, and port operation requirements. This required flexible planning and close coordination between the construction team, technical supervisors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Project Challenges

One of the main challenges of the project was working in an outdoor marine environment affected by tides, wind, waves, and weather changes. In addition, material transportation, equipment arrangement, and on-site quality control required accurate planning to avoid delays and ensure safe execution.

To overcome these challenges, CTB coordinated the construction process by phase, prioritized material quality control, optimized manpower and equipment allocation, and maintained regular communication with all parties involved. This approach helped the project progress steadily while meeting technical and safety requirements.

Project Results

The project was completed with the main marine construction items meeting the required technical standards. The completed works contributed to coastal stability, improved protection for the project area, and supported the operation of port-related infrastructure.

All quality records, inspection documents, as-built drawings, and handover materials were prepared properly, supporting a smooth acceptance and handover process. Through this project, CTB continued to demonstrate its capability in marine works, coastal protection, port infrastructure, and technical coordination for complex construction environments.
